REMEMBERING SCOTT CHINERY

In remembrance of Scott Chinery who died 11 years ago today, Oct. 24, 2000.

(Here are just three of many amazing photos we have.)

The BENEDETTO ‘La Cremona Azzurra’ graced the Smithsonian Institution’s commemorative poster of Scott Chinery’s Blue Guitars Exhibit in 1997.

Filmed at Scott’s home in Tom’s River, New Jersey, October 1997: Miles of Guitar TV host Bob Miles, Scott Chinery & Bob Benedetto (Visit World of Guitar).

Another of our favorite photos taken at  Scott Chinery’s home in Tom’s River, New Jersey, Spring 1996, the debut of the Chinery Blue Guitar Collection. Seated, from left: Arlen Roth, Scotty Moore, Tal Farlow (with the Benedetto La Cremona Azzurra), Jack Wilkins. Behind Jack: Jimmy Vivino (seated), Steve Howe, Lou Pallo and G.E. Smith, each holding one of the Blue Guitars. (Video by Christian Roebling, NYC).

In October, 2000, Scott’s BLUE GUITAR Collection was exhibited in Savannah, Georgia, by Savannah College of Art & Design (in conjunction with the Benedetto Players Concert Oct. 21, 2000, produced by Howard Paul [six years before he was to become BG’s Pres/CEO]. Sadly, Scott passed away before we got to thank him again for the loan of his exquisite collection in Savannah.

Scott, thanks forever for all you’ve done for the Archtop Guitar and for making this all happen.
