A MAJOR MINER EVENT - Part 1!

Benedetto Guitars

Monday being, well, Busy Monday, I only had a chance to get one great concert photo in the News :-(

Soundcheck time for Andreas, Howard and Bucky...must have been hard to concentrate with that many barrels of wine nearby...

Many thanks to Dedicated BGer Mike Oria for sending this and lots of others I can post tomorrow.

Lots more coming from Bill Doyle (aka Loyal Doyle) and John Brackett. (hint, hint guys)

THE WAY YOU LOOK TONIGHT

Well, tonight is the Big Night at Miner Family Vineyards... per Bob, the weather is perfect (hey, this IS Napa Valley) and the Miner Winery is exquisite...

Everything is perfect for Benedetto Players Bucky Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, Howard Paul and Andreas Oberg to amaze the audience at this sold out event!

A highlight this year is that Bill Doyle (Producer of our biography DVD, Benedetto: Body & Soul) is filming the concert for a special release DVD on Miner Family Vineyards and Benedetto Guitars. We thank Bill for his amazing talent and dedication to all things Benedetto (his words!).  :-)

SPECIAL thanks to the amazing Dave & Emily Miner for making it ALL happen. By Monday, you will start to see some amazing photos from tonight...until then, Cheers! (and don't forget to order some great Miner Wines!)

SWINGING IN SEATTLE

Benedetto GuitarsBG received a very warm welcome from the Seattle Jazz Guitar Society for a clinic Bob and Howard put on for their members August 13th.

The Seattle Jazz Guitar Society is a non-profit organization that is the heart and soul of jazz guitar in Seattle.

SJGS's congenial Michael Biller of Sound Island Music (left, on our BRAVO DELUXE) performing with Howard (on our BAMBINO DELUXE).

Many thanks for the warm welcome to your beautiful city! :-)

We're excited to have Seattle based Joe Vinikow of Archtop.com as a new Benedetto Dealer...hey, who has a cooler url for jazz guitars than Joe?  :-)

He has a BRAVO S1353 and BAMBINO S1274 in stock and great, detailed write-ups on both.

Shown at left is another great photo from Nathan Bob Jones taken at our factory here in Savannah of BRAVO necks in the works.

We just love you repeat BG buyers! Maine Jazzer Neil Lamb, who visited in March (see below) and brought along his earlier BENNY 7, just recently purchased yet another 7-String from Legato Guitars (see left) and sent us the following great note!

"I have to honestly say that the Bravo is the most complete blend of all those [great] attributes that I have encountered to date ! It is flawless, sounds great ( totally even response everywhere on the neck), has a fast action, is not too big to hold all night, and is built to travel. It doesn't hurt that it's attractive slightly modern update on the classic archtop design looks very elegant with its understated appointments. I am thrilled with it! Please pass along my compliments and thanks to the  builders."

Many thanks, Neil, and we wish you the best of luck with the new guitar...and await your order for #3!   (Three's a charm, right?)  :-)

DUFFY DOWN UNDER

Jazz guitar is truly loved the world over. We were delighted to receive a photo and wonderful note from Chris Duffy of Melbourne, Australia. "...Tasteful finish, attention to detail - perfect set-up. Looks and sounds like a million dollars and it's as easy to wear as a pair of silk socks." (What more is there to say?)

Chris purchased his BRAVO DELUXE (in the fab Honey Blonde) from Felix Thiang and Jennifer Choo, the lovely husband-wife due of Australia's OPUS MUSIC, who told us Chris is in the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame and has a CD he's working on with the new guitar... BRAVO, Chris! ;-)

SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY

It's all true about Southern Hospitality. And BG has experienced an abundance of it in our two years here.

BG has returned the favor and extended such hospitality to the wonderful people in Savannah who make this town sizzle with its music and arts. Just this week we were visited by the lovely Kristine Ireland Compton (left, with our BRAVO ELITE) of SOUTH magazine to discuss an updated article (BG was featured in 2006).

At right is Skip Jennings, First VP (Extraordinaire!) of the Coastal Jazz Association who came by to hear what all the excitement was about at BG (and loved playing our BENNY!) The CJA has sponored the annual Savannah Jazz Festival for 27 years, yup, 27 consecutive years!. click here for details on the upcoming 27th Annual Savannah Jazz Festival. Thanks for all the support, Skip!

See how happy everyone is playing Benedetto Guitars? :-)

COCA-COLA & BENEDETTO?

What do the world's premier soft drink and archtop guitarmaker have in common? Well, we're both part of the Museum of Design Atlanta's (MODA) ongoing "Made in Georgia" exhibit (now extended to October 18, 2008).

MODA is the only museum in the SE devoted to the study and celebration of design.

“So many things are made here [in Georgia] that are mass-produced and meant for global consumption. It really shows the global reach of Georgia", says Carie Davis, Exhibit Curator and Design Manager for Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Co.
