Joachim Schoenecker

Joachim Schoenecker has studied at the “Hilversums Conservatorium” in Holland and at the “Musikhochschule Köln”. His recording career as a leader was launched in 1997 with his CD debut as a leader, “Common Language”, featuring Jeff Hamilton, Larry Fuller and John Goldsby on “Doubletime-Records.” His second CD, “In The Moment”, with Chris Potter, Adam Nussbaum and John Goldsby, was released in 2000 and received critical acclaim in the US and abroad. Besides projects as a leader, he has worked in the studio or on stage with artists including “Toots” Thielemans, Patti Austin, Paquito D´Rivera, Peter Erskine, Don Braden, and Jeff Hamilton. An experienced educator, he taught at “Hochschule für Musik und Theater” in Leipzig from1999 to 2005. Joachim is an important link to the jazz guitar world in Europe.
