Wayne Wilkinson

fullres-0063Wayne Wilkinson has performed and toured across the country and internationally for over four decades.  Throughout his career, Wayne has been fortunate to share the stage with iconic jazz musicians and world class performers. As the guitarist for the premier Air Force Jazz Ensembles  “The Airmen of Note” in Washington, D.C. and the “Falconaires” in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Wayne performed for Presidents and other dignitaries at venues including the White House, Carnegie Hall as well as major jazz and music festivals.

Wayne performs regularly and plays original compositions, traditional and straight ahead jazz classics; and innovative bebop jazz from the great American songbook. His Texas roots are recognized with a hint of western swing infused jazz to honor his heritage.

Wayne is on faculty at the nationally accredited Colorado Springs Conservatory where he helped establish the Jazz program; is an adjunct professor for Jazz Guitar at Colorado State University – Pueblo; and conducts master classes and clinics.  Wayne’s students learn to “bake their own cake” as they use their own and learned musical ingredients to continually evolve their performances – keeping jazz alive and well at all ages.
