SENDING OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES
Benedetto was very sad to learn that guitarist, professor, and author Garrison Fewell recently passed. Garrison was a brilliant educator at the Berklee College of Music, teaching generations of some of the finest guitarists to emerge from Boston. He was a prolific player who traveled around the world performing and teaching in workshops and clinics. An author, a recording artist, a Benedetto artist, and most close to our hearts, our friend. All of us at Benedetto will miss him terribly.
In another loss to the jazz guitar world, we recently learned of the passing of Robert Yelin in Boca Raton, FL. Bob was once a thriving professional player and recording artist, arranger and instructors. He published a series of books on jazz guitar technique, and wrote for many top industry publications including Guitar Player and Just Jazz Guitar. Bob was also an significant patron to a number of leading archtop luthiers, and owned an important collection of hand-made jazz guitars.
Benedetto sends our heartfelt condolences to both Garrison and Bob’s families.
