One of our most beautiful commissions, this custom one-of-a-kind 16″ x 2-1/4″ custom nylon string archtop features a fan-braced spruce top, European maple back and sides, Spanish cedar neck with slotted headstock, and Koa binding. The floral sound holes reflect Bob Benedetto’s earlier Chinnery Blue Guitar soundholes, and the customer requested a delicate floral side port. The instrument features a floating ebony bridge with Barbera piezo pickup and a symmetrical ebony violin tailpiece.
Inspired by Bob Benedetto and hand made by master luthier Damon Mailand, this guitar has a stunning acoustic volume for an archtop design, and a rich, warm acoustic presence, which exceeds any amplified nylon string we’ve heard.
