THIS DAY IN JAZZ FIDDLE

January 26th marks the 1908 birth of violinist Stephane Grappelli in Paris, France. He passed away in 1997 at the age of 89 after and incredible career that included guitar centered projects from the likes of Django Reinhardt, Bucky Pizzarelli, et al. This photograph was taken in 1993 and shows Grappelli playing his 1987 Benedetto violin at his home in Paris.
