This as an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING GUITAR! Bob built this one-off Bambino Elite with some non-standard appointments. It starts with beautiful curly Koa binding around the body, neck and sound holes. The quilted maple back and sides are accentuated by an all natural, thinly coated lacquer finish.
The top is carved, hand graduated master grade Sitka spruce. Unlike our standard Bambino Elite, this guitar is further distinguished by its X-braced top. The ebony headstock faceplate displays a unique artistic flourish with a wave of deep red Southeast Asia Amboyna burl mimicked by Turquoise reconstituted stone. Most unique, though, is the voice. Bob chose to leave this as unencumbered as possible, selecting an S-6 floating pickup which allows the top to vibrate like its big brother guitars. The result has been an astonishingly loud and overtone-filled voice for such a small body size. We first heard it from down the hall and assumed it was amplified, only to find out Bob hadn’t plugged it in yet. Once plugged in, of course, it sounds like a much bigger version of its amazing acoustic presence.
