PHOTO MEMENTO

I practically walk around the shop daily with my camera ready (ask anyone here!) and try to capture moments, such as this one, when Bob is genuinely admiring a guitar we’ve made right here in Savannah.  🙂

This beautiful Autumnburst BRAVO DELUXE (Serial #S1922) is en route to DHR Music in Cincinnati.

Remember: Every single Benedetto guitar gets inspected by Bob before it leaves our shop.  And we think that’s pretty special  🙂

SHORT SAGA OF ‘PAGA’

Today’s Flashback Friday is dedicated to Birthday Boy Jimmy “Paganini” Bruno (a day late, sorry!). Shown with Bob and Howard at our shop in Savannah Spring 2008 and in 1996 recording in NYC.  Happy Birthday, “Paga”!

VIEW ‘MUCH ADO ABOUT THE GLUE’

Bob glues a two-piece bookmatched European maple back for a Bravo Elite.

Now you can view it!!   (btw: this was completely impromptu – was just going to take a photo or two and then remembered the camera had a video format (what a great century we are in!) So here is an off the cuff, Luthier Buff!)  Cheers!

PRESS ON!

When we say handmade, we mean it! Every step of the way…

Here, Evan Ellis presses in the frets on a Bravo Elite fingerboard, one by one…  Watch for a forthcoming video of this complete process! (it’s im’press’ive!)

IT’S HIS CAULING

Evan Ellis and I were going to do a “What is this Mystery Jig?” Contest (kinda like the “Mystery Chord”) but we changed our mind (this time!) as we thought this might be too tricky.

At left are the fingerboard gluing cauls (one for each model) used to glue the fingerboard blanks to the necks. (R): The underside of one of the cauls.

So, as they say, the jig is up!   🙂
