With live performances largely unable to go on this year, we are really sad to be missing our annual wine release concert at Miner Family Winery. Here’s a look back at last year’s show to remind us of all the fun: “Once again, the Miner Family Winery Benedetto Cabernet Release Concert was a sold out hit! This year, long-time Benedetto Artist, Howard Alden was backed by CEO and President, Howard Paul, bassist, Maggie Evans and drummer, Curt Moore. Dave Miner himself, and Sophia Thompson Padron joined in the fun with featured performances!” Photos by Mike Oria.
Johnny Mercer, Savannah’s Favorite Son, is so beloved here that we renamed a river for this classic collaboration between he and Henry Mancini. Taylor Roberts’ take on Moon River so great we just had to share!
This newly completed 16″ Custom is totally unique in both design and tonal properties. Built for a close Benedetto Guitars friend, Damon decided to use wenge for the back and sides as an experiment and paired it with a Western red cedar top and mahogany neck. He had to engineer a special V bracing pattern to accommodate the oval sound hole. The result is a strikingly warm and balanced tone that could put your favorite flat-top out of work despite maintaining a bit of archtop focus.
Every once in awhile we have a chance to experiment with something new. When this totally unique blister-quilt maple veneer came to our attention, we assumed it could only be used as a top for a Bravo Deluxe or Bambino Deluxe since solid sides aren’t cut in a way that could match. Not one to ignore a challenge, Master Luthier, Damon Mailand decided to attempt to apply a veneer on a regular side set as a test. Well, it worked like a charm, and he decided to move the guitar forward as a spec build for Bob’s Boutique having slated it for a Natural finish.
When it finally reached the bench of Master Finisher, Larry Perkins, his experienced gut told him Natural wasn’t the right fit for this beauty and instead swayed us to change the plan to our very popular, Light Antiqueburst finish, and boy are we glad he did!
It seems highly likely this guitar will get snatched up long before it’s completion date sometime in a month or two. Please email Jackson Evans (email@example.com) to be the lucky snatcher. A 25% deposit puts your name on the guitar with the balance plus shipping and handling due upon completion.
