FLASHBACK! (OR, IS IT A DOUBLETAKE?)

We have another luthier we welcomed back within the past couple of months. Steve! Check out his bio on our “About Our Luthiers” page!

Steve Holzknecht first joined the Benedetto team in 2013.  Over the next three years he applied his skills to carving top and back arches and setting necks, as well as every aspect of neck construction.  He returned in 2018 to work in the Finish Department, apprenticing under Master Finisher Larry Perkins.

THANK YOU, EMI SUPPLY!

Wonderful article by EMI Supply Inc (they are one of our sandpaper suppliers). THANK YOU!

“When you learn Bob Benedetto’s story, it’s hard to imagine him being anything but one of the world’s best at his craft.

He seems born to it, backed by a close-knit family and a passion for music that are cornerstones of Benedetto Guitars.

This past month, his company celebrated 50 years of building archtop guitars favored by expert jazz players. We’re so honored to have him as an EMI Supply customer that he is the first subject in our Customer Spotlight series.”

“EMULATION” IS THE SINCEREST FLATTERY

Well, we certainly got a kick out of this!

Thanks to Benedetto player Beth Marlis (she plays a Bambino Elite) for sharing this ad from Guitar Player Magazine. It turns out Benedetto is included in the 30 preset emulated effects for the XT-1.  Check out the window setting #12 in the Guitar Profiler: “Benedetto Bamb.”

This got Bob and Cindy curious, so they dug around and found this video from Musikmesse 2017. Note the second setting the demonstrator uses at the 11 second mark. How cool?!
