Beth Marlis is a gigging guitarist, respected educator, published author, and arts non-profit leader. Her command of music crosses many genres from jazz to classical, latin, funk, and R&B. While deeply rooted in jazz, her diverse credits include sharing the stage with artists from every style and sound. In an industry dominated by male players and professors, Beth’s career has brought her to the pinnacle of the west coast jazz guitar universe.

With undergraduate music degrees from The University of California, GIT and a Master of Music degree from USC, Marlis has risen from GIT faculty member to Guitar Department Chair, on to Assistant Dean, and now to Vice President at Musicians Institute.
